In 2015 Than and Megan Graffam became aware of the tremendous need of a specific country in Southeast Asia. They knew they needed to go. For two years they pursued partners with missionaries and pastors and prayed that God would open the door. In 2017 they made a connection with a Philippina missionary who connected them with three ministries helping kids. In November of 2017 Than and Megan traveled to Southeast Asia to see if any of these three ministries were a good fit for a long term partnership with Hope Project. It became clear while they were there, one of them was to be a long term partner lead by a local pastor. Hope Project began partnering with this pastor and in June of 2018 committed to assuming financial responsibility for an orphanage caring for 43 children. The pastor was having difficulty “putting rice on the plates.” Than and Megan knew this was why God had called them to Southeast Asia.
