We believe that every child deserves the opportunity to be educated. For many children worldwide, education is not possible because of economic difficulties. There is no tuition for school, but there are required uniforms and supplies that families cannot afford. For the last ten years, Hope Project has been working alongside families to help make education possible for their children.

CENTRAL AMERICA
Beyond the school sponsorship for kids, the uniforms we purchase for children in Central America are being made by a sewing co-op, employing women in the community. We don’t just desire children to attend school; we want them to receive a quality education. That is why we have met with the directors of the schools that the children in Central America attend to hear what they need and how we can help them. They told us they needed basic classroom supplies and teaching aids. Our goal is to sponsor 78 classrooms this school year, outfitting two entire schools with the classroom supplies they need for the year.
In addition to the uniforms, supplies, and classroom supplies, the community expressed a need for a tutoring program for the 350 children Hope Project sponsors. To hire the qualified tutors for this program, the cost is $250 per month. This tutoring program increases the level of education each child is receiving.

ETHIOPIA
The sponsored kids took their education opportunity seriously, showing us their report cards when we visited them in July. The joy and pride on the kids’ faces as they receive their uniforms and supplies is priceless; someone thought they were worthy of getting to school.

SOUTHEAST ASIA
In addition to the 50 students we currently sponsor, we know that war in one of the countries we serve has created a shortage of teachers in rural communities. We have become aware of teachers willing to go into these communities and provide education to children who would otherwise not have the opportunity. Through this, we are able to provide education to an entire village. Six teachers need their salary covered, the cost is $1,000 per teacher, totaling $6,000, for the entire school year.
